Congress and the Wire Act: How US Legislators Could Affect the Fate of Online Gaming
Whoever being engaged in the business of betting or wagering knowingly uses awire communication facility for the transmission in interstate or foreigncommerce of sport-related bets or wagers, information assisting in the placingof such bets or wagers, communications which entitles the recipient to receivemoney or credit as a result of such bets or wagers or which entitles therecipient to receive money or credit as a result of information assisting inthe placing of such bets or wagers, shall be fined under this title orimprisoned not more than two years, or both.
